    Gimmito's 450 gal L-shaped tank

Exciting development! The acrylic is so clear. Are you planning to have the rocks directly on the bottom of the tank, or put anything (like starboard) underneath them?

    Interesting critters for frag tank?

I would worry that a six line wrasse could jump out of a shallow tank... planning to construct a screen?

    RBTA shrinking

Sorry to hear the update about the nem. If this was the one in the upper right of your display tank, it was beautiful. I have a clone of my bit green/yellow BTA that you are welcome to have if you'd like.

    99sf's 150-Gallon Upgrade

Thank you Justin, Richard & John. Like John, I've decided to let the sunset monti go wild. I remember when I first began a reef tank three years ago that sunset monti was a very rare, expensive coral. Due to the success of captive prop., it's now common and not expensive! Richard, please...

    99sf's 150-Gallon Upgrade

The anemone split once, and is getting ready to split again. Donut coral after getting target fed: Sunset monti is really expanding: Cloves from Aquatic Central: Acan frags (I really need to learn how to properly use the camera):

Anemones--Bubble Ends a Sign of Health?

For bubble tip anemones, what influences the degree of bubbling of the tentacles? I read (on wet web media) an old post speculating about light conditions and flow influencing the bubble ends, but haven't found much of a study of this issue. If the anemone has elongated tentacles, and...

    Teal Candy Cane/Trumpet Coral (Caulastrea)

Brian, I enjoyed meeting you last night. Hope the coral thrives in your tank. Jelly, there is still a frag available for you (and Gimmito & Plumstr8).

    100g TruVu, SPS, LPS

Nice start! Have you considered extending the drain tube further down in the sump? That would prevent the waterfall effect and reduce splashing.

Zapping aptasia, what I've learned "so far"

Sounds like an interesting experiment, but maybe it's not necessary. I love my peppermint shrimp! Zero aiptasia (from dozens when I inherited the live rock) within weeks, none remaining over a year later.

    patrickb's Anemone Propogation Tank

Wow, that is a beautiful new anemone! Congratulations. Can it go into your main tank?

How sturdy are AGA Aqueon stands?

Welcome to the forum! Mario (xcaret) makes really cool custom stands from plywood. I would suggest sending him a private message to see if he could give you a quote, but realized that you're not yet a member, so that's not an option. ;) (Membership has a lot of privileges). Here's an example...

    99sf's 150-Gallon Upgrade

Unfortunately, the beautiful red plate frag did not survive an encounter with a green yuma that attached under the frag. |(

    99sf's 150-Gallon Upgrade

Ouch! When re-arranging the frag rack at the back of the tank two nights ago, my arm briefly touched the 250W DE pendant's glass shield. Sizzling sound, instant pain. Now I have peeling skin :((

    Spambots

Maybe we can come up with some creative reef questions to stump the spammers. Like requiring applicants to give the dimensions of a standard 120 gallon tank, or asking for the full phrase for RO/DI.

    Teal Candy Cane/Trumpet Coral (Caulastrea)

This coral is very hardy, surviving the trip from San Diego. It thrives under a variety of different conditions: T5, MH, large tank, nano tanks. Forms new heads often when target fed mysis. Great coral for those with newer tanks. Photo shows it dominating my 29 gallon tank. Pick up near...
