I'm probably going to go with the Python no spill clean thing that lets me vacuum the sand. But before I shell out some money, I wanted to know if there was anyone else with a better or cheaper system to clean sand?

You can get away with all three as long as you do it the right way, so at this point it is up to your personal preferred aesthetics. Me? Yea, I like a shallow sand bed.

The lights are at least a year old. So that might be a big part of the problem? I don't feed that much, just NFS pellets once a day to one mandarin goby. Might add some LR too...

So I've noticed a few patches of Red Cyano growing on the sandbed towards the front of my 12 gallon nano. I've never had this before, and am guessing it is from low flow? The tank is one of those Nano-Cube DX package deals. So my question is, how do I get rid of it?

I only keep LPS, softies, and fish. My temp runs 74 - 76 degrees and I've had good growth and health. Did you ask how much shorter their life span is and what kind of data he/she has on it? I'd be interested because that is a fish I'd like to keep at one point...

I get the frozen bars. I feed it once every few days. Fish love it. Haven't seen much of a coral response. I think I read somewhere that it's one of the few foods that helps keep fish colors vibrant. Take that with a grain of salt :)
