    MD’s 90 Gallon Shallow Reef

I hope you find the little guy..glad to hear everything else is fine after your vacation tho. Bacteria and a good CUC did it for me as well...my ugly stage lasted a month. Dinos and GHA..30 days and a CUC later, no trace of the uglies..

    SupraSaltyReefer's TankAPalooza Tang Addiction

The camera is a dope feature...the finish on it is not as much of an eyesore as the plank. Is it an auger feeder as well? Tanks looking good brotha!

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I'm hoping it works for you. This was my reading today...not sure if I should feel better about it, but 0 is closer to 3.6 than 14.1 At least the PO4 stayed steady.

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

CUC took care of almost all of the GHA and got me through the ugly stage. I'm going to have to throw in some nori to keep them fed until I can get fish in there to keep stuff growing. I had to take the kalk rx offline to send the pump back to Geo for warranty. I had to drain it since the pump...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I performed the calibration today with tank water. The lowest I was able to set the NO3 was 5, it doesn't go lower than that. PO4 was spot on, NO3 read high when compared to my checker.

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

I'm seeing the same thing. My PO4 readings have been 0 for every test, I just haven't had the time to really tinker with it. NO3 was reading in line with Hannah in the beginning, then it skyrocketed after a minicycle from some live rock and adding ammonia to feed the bacteria. It hasn't been...

    Patrick's 81G - the last dance

Graduation day for my CUC! I picked their guys up as a valentines present to myself and have had them sitting in 81 degrees since...I held them for a couple more days and gradually ramped down the temp to ~77-78F. Lost 2 snails and one cleaner shrimp during the process. 45 day QT can really...

Aqualogic Controller - The King is dead

I wouldnt suggest banking on the Helios too much. The one I have tends to drift after 3-4 weeks, hence why I got the Traceable one

Aqualogic Controller - The King is dead

Get a NIST certified thermometer and calibrate both against that. $40 well spent.

    Neptune trident advanced replacement

Ohh man that sucks...I just brought both of mine on line last weekend. Hopefully I won't be running into this for a while. How much do they charge for the advanced replacement?

China tech just knocked off ATI straton light

If it's even half as intense as the ATI it should be plenty strong. If I cranked mine up to 90% It measures ~640's on the sandbed. I doubt I'd ever come close to needing the full wattage.

    UV plumbing

I think I watched a video on YouTube that showed the charred remains of a tank due to a UV...maybe Melevs reef or something...so definitely something I took into consideration when plumbing. 4 unions and a large part of the plumbing comes out with the UV. There is a bit of spillage from any...

Science project - Saving coral Reef

That's awesome...not just for the cause, but the core memories built together working on the project.

    UV plumbing

I dont doubt it...with the head pressure from the plumbing I recon it puts me around the 90,000 uw/cm2 mark....it should be enough contact time to nuke any free-floating fish disease

    UV plumbing

I run the longer 40w unit and have it plumbed horizontally with a slight angle to allow for any bubbles to escape. Like mentioned above, you wouldn't want your pump to go bad and have your bulb running dry. While the plumbing for these can be a bit awkward and not everyone would have space to...
