I can’t for the life of me tune this skimmer (Skimz SM201). I get a tea like skimmate with tons of gunk stuck at the neck. Any thoughts? It’s an old skimmer on a year old tank so no break in issues. I am battling very high nitrates and plan to run biopellets but wanted to get the skimmer tuned...

I have a mother bounce and small baby in my tank but they’ve always been on the bottom and never anywhere near the rock work, certainly not the top/back portion. I suppose is possible that it was a hitchhiker but my guess is that the mother popped out a baby at some point and it floated around...
