    ATO safety question

The Red Sea ATO isn't like other ATO's. It has a controller built into it, a solid state level sensor (4 discrete exposed metal contacts to sense water lever as good, low, or high) and a separate leak sensor. You can't easily turn the pump off without also turning off the controller because...

    Aquaforest mineral

From the BRS page "Not your typical reef salt! Aquaforest's Reef Mineral Salt was designed specifically for use with the Balling Method. Lack of mineral supplementation can lead to long-term deficiencies, resulting in excessive slowdown of growth and pale colouration of corals. Aquaforest Reef...

    Aquaforest mineral

I only see mineral salt, which seems like salt you mix with rodi to make new salt water. What is the product you have? Agree, AI is plane wrong enough that I wouldn't blindly trust it.

KCL Potassium Chloride Spray Instead of Dip

@derek_SR has done this I believe.

    Another thread on solar

This is surprising? They are an electric car company, no wait, a robotics company, no wait, an AI company. A solar company shouldn't need a deposit to quote you anything, that should be a red flag. Find a solar company who does solar and has a good history. That being said, Sunpower (who I...

    9 footer disaster

I save journals like these to show my wife I'm not the craziest one in the club, great setup.

Sodium Hydroxide(NaOH) for Alk & pH

Soda ash (sodium carbonate) gives a ph bump relative to baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and has worked great for me over the years without the worry about keeping a super caustic solution around.

    Michael's 300 In Vegas

Tank has been wet for a year now, and I am starting to see some growth in some of my monti's, so we are on par from my last experience. If this holds, in 6 months, I will be growing fast! Time to get some fast growing sps in here. Also added my first dose of some homegrown PNS bacteria. It...

    Thomas' 29G TruVu

I don't have that edit choice on it. Must have been taken over by the BOD. @JVU maybe can edit it.

    Thomas' 29G TruVu

I poked around and can't see a place to rename that.

    Thomas' 29G TruVu

    Triton method discussion

I guess the Triton method added the icp tests to adjust specific elements? Balling back in the 90's seems to be onto the same idea. I bet it was theorized even before then. "The Balling method is a popular way to maintain stable water parameters in a reef aquarium. It was developed in the...

    Triton method discussion

Not dissimilar from the Balling method.

    Free Zoas

I wouldn't try to get them off of the rock, so much as I would try to cut the rock under them. Bone cutters (and safety goggles) in a bucket were my go to for fragging these.

Gone: Free to a Good Home: Large Green Polyp Leather

Sweet coral, that's huge! Nice work.

    Free Zoas

I also would like to donate rubble and get corals back ;) But with zoa's, that actually makes some sense, lol

Need some help with plumbing parts

    I would do a 40 threaded to 40 slip, and a 32 threaded to a 32 slip, then this https://www.walmart.com/ip/Uxcell-32x40mm-PVC-Reducer-Bushing-Pipe-Fitting-Coupling-Tube-Adapter-White-3-Pack/1416007691?gQT=1...

    Big Ask…. 320 Aquarium Move.

That is a big tank. Are those two sumps you are using under there? One full of rock and the other...full of rock?

Cotton candy torch - one head less happy than the other

Looks like one head is not liking the kalkwasser. Oh wait, that was already brought up. Maybe one head is stinging the other. That side of the torch could just be cold. Ok, got those out of my system. Sometimes one head doesn't get as much flow, or a fish comes by and makes it shrink...
