Qckslvr’s biocube 32 is off and running.

Updated the shopping list! I got my Inkbird in over the weekend and installed it. With the cooler weather this was the perfect time to test my free tank heater. I set it to 80* and the Inkbird to 78.... And sadly my tank dropped to 76, and it was not getting warmer. So an emergency run to...

What are you currently using for testing, and do you plan to upgrade? A pole!

A simple pole to see what every one out there in the BAR family is using. I have left this multiple choice, as I know not every test by every brand is the best.... you might use Red Sea Alk, but Nyos Mag.... If so, please comment :) I shall start with that I have Milwaukee salinity tester at...

    Should I be worried?

Yes it was live rock from a holding tank. When working with the rock and setting it up, it did not appear to have anything on it.

    Should I be worried?

This has appeared on my live rock. Wondering if I need to be concerned. No fish or corals in the tank. This day 4 of it running.

Qckslvr’s biocube 32 is off and running.

Well unfortunately this didn’t take long. This morning went to work and tank was a happy 76 degrees. Got home at 5, and my condo is 81* and my tank is 80 :( Trying to cool the tank, but will this harm the bacteria I am trying to get into a healthy state?

Thank you, my wife will love the comment. She worked on that for a while. Seeing as it is live rock, it was a good learning experience working with wet rock.

    New to salt water

Thank you all, my wife and i will be gone this weekend. But when we return will reach out for rocks! If I remember correctly the rocks I currently have came from King Aquarium about 13 years ago. They are left overs from the 180g build.

    New to salt water

The birds of the house are two sun conures Perci and Conni, and a Nanday named Andy. As for the rocks which one? The one on the right or left? They were both pulled from aquariums. I am curious though, what problem does the wrong type of rock pose?

    New to salt water

Hello all! I was lured here by SlingFox on R2R. Kinda new to salt water. I have had fresh water aquariums on and off in my life (rental agreements can be a pain). But never a saltwater tank. During that time I built a 180 gallon mixed reef tank, with stand, chiller, refugium, and 4 AI Vegas to...
