    Diamond hole saws

Before going out and buying diamond hole saws wanted to see if anyone here has them. Looking for two different sizes. One for a 3/4" bulkhead and one for a 1" bulkhead.

    Crazy winds- Backup power check

Yes Eucalyptus trees. You have two camps one is you/me and others that see these as nonnative and should be cut down. The other camp is wanting to safe the trees and they are the charm of Burlingame. I haven't looked it up but apparently they will be cutting all the Eucalyptus trees down and...

    Crazy winds- Backup power check

It was really blowing but all good here in San Mateo. Tested the generator. Went to Burlingame to take pictures of trees down for the newspaper I work for.

    Kalkwasser & ph anecdote

I have been dosing Kalk slurry for one year on April 18th. I'm only doing 1/4cup per gallon. The tanks get some where near 2000mL per day which is close to my evaporation. Corals are looking great. I have lost coral but it has been from aiptasia.

    Rose’s 50 & 90g Tanks

While I was feeding the filefish today I noticed they are eating my homemade frozen food.

    Rose’s 50 & 90g Tanks

You can see the colors in the pictures I posted. As far as size. The ones from today are I think 1/2 inch or longer. The ones that died last week they were maybe 1/4 inch, definitely less than 1/2 inch. It seems like they are eating. I put in some of the finer particles from my homemade fish...

    Rose’s 50 & 90g Tanks

Seeing is believing. The Mandiran that was killed was very tiny. It got too close to a field of Aiptasia and got stung. I had to move the fish out of the Aiptasia. It was breathing hard and died several minutes later. The Mandirans in todays shipment are larger but I’m going to house them in...

    Rose’s 50 & 90g Tanks

Picked up my order of BiotaAquariums fish and coral. This is the second order. The first order was just fish but they died in the tank. The two Mandarin fish got killed by aiptasia and the two filefish I put in the sump probably died since I cant find them. Today's order had the same fish plus...

    Flooding

Thanks. The garage was flood water free by 7pm or so and the streets were clear of water by midnight. Surprisingly by this morning the garage floor was mostly dry. All the electrical components and plugs are 3 to 5 feet above the garage floor. I made sure not to touch anything electrical.

    Flooding

Who else had flooding. Our house in the Sunnybrae Neighborhood of San Mateo had major flooding. Luckily we only had 8” of water in the garage. Nothing was damaged and the garage tank never missed a beat. If this happens more often I'll need to buy waders. I only had my normal rain gear to take...

On average, how many times a day does food drop into your tank?

I started dosing vinegar 2+ months ago because of high Po4/No3. The Po4 was over 1ppm and No3 was over 100ppm. Right now Po4 is .07ppm but No3 is still near 100ppm. I’ve backed off the vinegar so I don’t bottom out Po4.
