Would be intrested in learning how you have yours setup internally. I would feel better about not drilling holes into the barrels for running an external. Barrels are in my kitchen and I don't need addtional potential leak points with my amatuer non existent plumbing skills.

Focus on one aspect at a time. Skip trying to worry about po4 and other things until fish are ok, are my thoughts. Rowa phos needs to be in a filter sock or area where water flows through it. Just in the tank anywhere it won't really make a difference without waternpassing through it.
