Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

Nitrates still a bit high but January 3rd they were 41.4 ppm so really happy about the progress so far hopefully that contributes to my phosphates getting lower than the .90 ppm I'm always getting

Thanks, I only did it because I got it when I bought the tank and figured I would try it out. Only dose as needed, currently only ALK as my Calcium and Mg have been really good

Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

Long overdue update! I finally decided to get serious, I started dosing Lanthanum the way shown here (set it inside my skimmer after diluting original solution), so far so good! However I think my phosphate levels are still high due to a large amount accumulated in my rock work. I had a bunch...

Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

Going to do a full update soon, but I did have a question about using a gravel filter on my sand bed. I know it's good to get a lot of possible phosphate build up in my tank which can be found in the sand bed however I have a Dimond Goby and a Large Tiger Conch (one of my favorite tank...

Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

My conundrum is obviously for the time being my RODI water is compromised would you @derek_SR or anyone else still recommend I dilute to a 1:50 ratio of RODI to Phosphate-E and put it in my skimmer? I'm thinking since my concentration of phosphate is so incredibly high I might be safer just...

Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

I completely understand, I will definitely look into getting new membranes I'm just wanting to do a water change asap so waiting on my Resin for now just to hold me down, but first thing on my list is ordering new filters/membranes! Found out I do have membranes - although not enough "Brains"...

Bigfish's swim into the sea - a tank journal

Yes those are the ones I will be replacing the resin on, to be honest I'm not sure about the RO membrane this is what I inherited when I bought the tank and this was what was being used since the tank was made without issue, I believe the other parts were replaced not too long before I purchased...
