RODI System Recommendations and Considerations (and which ones not to buy)

0.75G waste to 1G product... Definitely need a booster to make this work. I have mine set at 85 psi based on the membranes I use.

RODI System Recommendations and Considerations (and which ones not to buy)

My system is probably overkill for Mountain View as water comes from Hetch-Hetchy, which has modest TDS... I'll change my sediment filters a few times before the membranes need replacing. I used to do a swap during membrane changes so I only change out RO #3 and move #1 and #2 down a position...

RODI System Recommendations and Considerations (and which ones not to buy)

Consider adding a third RO canister to the setup, chaining the three in series rather than parallel... I did that some years ago and push about 85psi with a booster... my waste water is about 0.75G to 1G product...

    Nanocrazed 2025 Budget Build! -- 5G Fluval

I've had this purple tang since it was about an inch... in order for me to monitor and care for it, I had to move it from a 50 G to a 2.5G so I can encourage it to eat, etc. As it got larger, I moved it up to slightly bigger tanks. And now to the 5G... it'll likely be ready soon to go into my...

    Neptune trident advanced replacement

The last time I had to replace a pinch valve, I ordered them straight from the manufacturer... had I known about the tariffs then, I would have ordered a boat load and sell them myself... ha.

    Nanocrazed 2025 Budget Build! -- 5G Fluval

The usual conventional guidelines are general rules of thumb / recommendations. But I think it's important to take things into context. Usually guidelines on how much stock per gallon is to help general hobbyists manage their bioload and resulting water quality....followed by consideration on...

    Nanocrazed 2025 Budget Build! -- 5G Fluval

I mentioned in my earlier posts that the 5G is more like a nursery for the purple tang. Once it's big enough to fend for food itself then it goes into my other tanks... right now, it can barely compete with the two clowns... ...though once the purple tang moves out, I'm moving in the baby...

March 2025 Update: ===== Got past the ugly phase... but decided to let the green film algae grow out a bit to help the pod population explode... Everything is coming along nicely...though, the female is looking gravid so there might be a clutch soon. Added a second fire shrimp...(+$40) and a...

    NanoCrazed's Lazy Tank(s) Journal

What a bummer... came home to this. Have had my blonde Naso since it was a booger -- it now the size of my palm. All other fish in the system are fine, and nothing had been introduced to it in a long, long time. So have no idea why I lost this beauty. I hate it when I lose fish with not...
