Death Autopsy - Any idea how to save the remaining fish?

The fish I got has finished quarantine on Feb 2, so he was actually out of QT for a week before I picked him up. I agree I don’t think the front tank is dosed with any meds but I did see there were a lot of other fish in there with the blenny. All it takes is one sick one to get through...

Death Autopsy - Any idea how to save the remaining fish?

He is! And in fact the fire fish and clownfish seems to have improve nearly back to normal within the 4 hours since I made the post! (Knock on wood because things can change fast) Still baffled at the death of the blenny but the other two are behaving normally and eating again. I’m now...

Death Autopsy - Any idea how to save the remaining fish?

About 5 months. Bought them in early September. Tank age is 11 months. Started in march last year.

Death Autopsy - Any idea how to save the remaining fish?

Here’s a picture of the clown I just took. No apparent signs of any markings that I see. His breathing is still elevated but slowed from this morning. The water change may have helped. I introduced the blenny on Sunday by first floating the bag for about 20 minutes, then I equalized the water...

Death Autopsy - Any idea how to save the remaining fish?

No aggression that I observed! I got plenty of videos of them all chilling together in the water column. The curious clown would occasionally swim right up to him to look at him but never once did he nip or do any chasing. But to your point, I didn’t realize some of the tail was missing. I just...

Death Autopsy - Any idea how to save the remaining fish?

Yeah. Not trying to throw shade at anyone. Just super surprised because I thought the quarantine was supposed to avoid this problem. :(

Death Autopsy - Any idea how to save the remaining fish?

Hi all, This Sunday 2/9 I bought a Tailspot blenny from a store in Oakland that quarantines their fish for 2 weeks. Initially when I put the blenny in my 12 gallon nano tank, he seemed to be adjusting well, pecking at the algae film that grew on rocks and the glass. However, I noticed Tuesday...

    DBTC: Rose Bubble Tip Nem

Yeah I’m did some research and I don’t think my tank could handle it. I have an AI blade and could install another one but the roaming would be the hard part. There’s too much other coral in the small nano tank that it could harm

    DBTC: Rose Bubble Tip Nem

Hey Alex - I’d be interested! What’s the par requirement? Could they survive under ~180 par?

    Beginner reefer seeking advice

There is minimal surface water agitation with the pump, but I also purchased an Jebao slw-3 for extra flow. Right now there’s a lot of diatoms (I think) and other detritus just sitting on the floor. Salinity is 1.025. Pretty sure it’s correct if tap water is reading 1.000 right? I did have to...

Thanks for the advice! I have the coral grow. Will cut down on the light exposure time. The AIO uses a filter floss pad which I replace every 3 days. I’m gonna pick up rodi this Sunday and just use that going forward.

It came pre calibrated, but I tested it against tap water and it showed 1.000. Pretty sure it’s correct.

    Beginner reefer seeking advice

I don't have a phosphate test but does there's algae and diatoms in the tank so I would guess there would be at least some phosphate, if not too much. I haven't fed the tank other than a pinch of fish food a week ago and there's no fish.

    Beginner reefer seeking advice

Hey reefers. I think I need another round of advice. My coral started rapidly dying 2 days ago, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. On the Discosomas, and green hairy mushrooms, I am noticing these white fleshy pustules appear. The Zoanthids have closed up very tight for over a day. The...

    Beginner reefer seeking advice

Hey Reefers - Just an update here on the tank situation. Been getting a lot of help from all of you, but especially big thanks to Will @Turkeysammich. He and I met up and dispatched any visible aiptasia for now, knowing they'll come back. Also gave me some starter corals. I'll be sure to give...
