Stocking choice obviously is important but I suggest having porous ceramic media like marinepure /maxspect as well. Helps create biofilter capacity / buffer to keep your tank happy for long term success...

I have a PNC small in 1, the first gen version. It's been running fine for 2 years with a yellow watchman goby with pistol shrimp. I have GSP growing on the back wall. I change the water every 4-5 months and top it off manually. The evaporation is very minimal because of the top.

I have the 40oz version. Bought at CFM a year ago. Except letting the fireworks cloves start to take over; has been quite easy to manage. Water changes are too easy.
