You can, but if you're going to do that, you might else we'll use food that the coral can grab an eat (e.g., reef chili, reef roids, oyster feast, ROE, etc.) versus using fish food.

Julian. Yes you can add phosphate and nitrates by just adding fish food, better yet add coral food. Ideally target [emoji457] feeding corals for maximizing the uptake. Hope your new tank is working well and you are enjoying it. Happy holidays

Ah interesting point of view on the economics of a LFS. I suppose for most of us, it a $20 fish costs and extra $50 to QT, then we'd just buy the fish and QT it at home, and use the $50 for a 10g tank and filter. (Which is why most of use do that).
