Acan Care?

I picked up a frag of lords acan, and another type with a white outer and red center clusters. Both ahave about 5-8 heads. I have them up at the top of my tank, moderate waterflow. My lights are T5s. 4 bulbs are on about 6-7hrs, and two bulbs are on about 1hour total per day. Are they too high up? Or are they ok? Both came out of LFS tanks that had MH lamps.

Just want to make sure they are doing ok. How do I tell if they are happy? They let their tentacles out after dark, but not during the day or when the lights are on. Any help would be great.

I have most of my acans middle to low. You can try keeping where they are but keep a close eye and if you see any signs of bleaching move down quickly.

Move em down. Most of them aren't a "high light" coral. MD-MD/low IME.

I find that the best coloring for acans comes when they are pretty shaded. I've gotten really nice rainbow acans that go completely red in medium/high light. Nowadays I throw them all into caves.
