Is there a coral dip that removes algae, for those times you can't separate it physically? I suppose worst case you can put those herbicide chemicals into your quarantine treatment regimen?
H2O2(hydrogen peroxide) will kill algae. Search the internet for how long to leave the coral in the solution and the ratio of h2o2 to water. I've used it but is has been a long time ago.
