Any clever solutions for corals that are not getting along with their neighbors?

When I glued these corals on the “rock” they seemed far apart-but they’ve grown. As you can see from the photo the chalice is on the losing end. Anyone have ideas other than just breaking/cutting

the rock (which I think is actually a coral deadhead found on the beach years ago)? I guess a corollary question would be is there a way to frag encrusting corals without cutting the rock?

Unfortunately that Favia is going to kill most anything within reach of its sweepers.

And if it is encrusted onto the rock, there is no way to safely remove it off of said rock.

To prevent it from encrusting further, lay a strip of epoxy at the edge of the corals, between the two. Best method I found is to roll it out into a strip then add a line of super glue. That side will go against the rock. When one starts encrusting over it just rip off the epoxy and replace.

Ah.... Great idea.
