Aquarium Kalk vs food kalk

Hello.
I wanted to hear from some OG’s here. I’ve always used pickling lime from the grocery store. My ph has always been around 7.9 -8.2ish. Tim gave me a bottle of Kent Kalk. Now my ph is around 8.1-8.5.
Have you guys experienced this ? I haven’t heard that aquarium Kalk has a higher ph valve. Thoughts please.
 
I know I don’t fit your criteria since I only started with kalk 2 months ago. Wanted to add my experience because the PH boost has been huge. I use about 2.2 gallons a day in 100 gallon sps frag system and ph runs about 8.4-8.8. Im am not saying anyone should go that high only that I know that amount in a fishless frag system of 100 gallons will boost ph significantly when combined with a CO2 scrubber. Without Kalk would run 8-8.25.

I use the BRS kalk.

I calibrate the probe quarterly.
