Had to re-cycle a small tank because it has sat so long waiting for lighting upgrade. Introduced ammonia source ~2ppm, waited, tested ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. Seemed fine, but repeated again to be sure, but ammonia was higher than I planned maybe 4ppm. Ammonia converted to nitrate, and nitrates remain like 40-60. This is fine, right - a full cycle?
BUT I forget where to go from here - water changes to bring nitrates down? Do I need to spike ammonia again if it has been 2-3 weeks sitting there with high nitrates?
