Best sand sifting Goby for 40 gallon tall tank

yeah
crossshatch aka orange marked aka orange marked

Amblygobius decussatus

They bulldoze as well, not much different then a diamond goby.
They are significantly smaller than a diamond and a much smaller mouth so hoping it won't be too bad.

He's not burying anything yet. Not cleaning my sand very well either so... yeah.

Valenciennea vs Amblygobius which explains the mouth shape, and why its not cleaning as well (they don't do much sand sifting IME, but due burrow and that is their issue). As far as size, Valenciennea get larger then Amblygobius, and have different behaviors. The published max size difference is 4" vs 6", but I have seen both arrive larger then the max sizer listed. Valenciennea tend to arrive larger typically due to new areas being harvested. Both can/will bury coral that is too low.

I've seen thousand of each in my days working in import/export/wholesale as well as in LFS's. I've never been a fan of Valenciennea.
