Carpenters wrasse

Anyone know is carpenters wrasse needs sand or not? I think they like to burrow but I'm
now 100%...

IIRC fairy and flashers don't need it, but, it's a been a while since I've even thought about them so I may be wrong

I had one and it did not bury itself. Just hid in the rocks. Liked to jump.

I just went and looked at Marine Fishes By: Scott W. Michael and it did not say anything about a needing a deep sand bed. Also remember that fish can vary greatly between species like I know a person who has a clown fish that eats coral.

Pretty sure that is my memory too.

They make a slime cocoon instead of burrowing, so they do not need sand.
