Definitely bring cash if at all possible. Cash sales really help out small business due to the crazy high transaction fees or card processing fees now.Looking good! Going tonight, my first coral show. Any advice for a first timer?
This! Last CFM I saw a torch I wanted and it just happened that the girl next to me asked about the same torch before I did. She was thinking about it and I was praying she would pass on it. She ended up telling the vendor that she’ll be right back and I snatched it up lolVIP night is for cherry picking usually. If you see something you like, think hard before leaving the booth and saying "I'm gonna look around and get it when I come back around" as it may not be there when you come back. (Mainly applies to rarer, higher end and unique coral) If it caught your eye and you like it, it will probably catch someone else's eye too.
Don’t forget the BAR secret handshake. Oh don’t know it ? Guess you should have read the bar rules. It’s in there.Definitely bring cash if at all possible. Cash sales really help out small business due to the crazy high transaction fees or card processing fees now.
Biggest advice is only bring the amount of cash you plan to spend and leave your cards at home. It's very easy to go overboard at the sight of all the corals.

Look around at everything before buying something, there is always something at the next booth that will catch the ɛyɛLooking good! Going tonight, my first coral show. Any advice for a first timer?
Or just buy both lolLook around at everything before buying something, there is always something at the next booth that will catch the ɛyɛ
In general yes, but if its a one off or something special I would say buy it right away or you may miss out. Have had plenty of customers come back and the coral they wanted got sold while they were looking around.Look around at everything before buying something, there is always something at the next booth that will catch the ɛyɛ
True the guy said it was his first show, so probably isn’t looking for something specific. In this case my main mission is rock flower anemones, or at least one really cherry one. Mushrooms, zoas and maybe one torch are the acceptable impulse purchases.True the guy said it was his first show, so probably isn’t looking for something specific. I didn't see but one or two vendors with rock flower nems last time, plenty of zoas and good section of torches. Amounts of each coral type brought to cfm by different vendors tends to shift between each cfm. So looking foward to see what this show offers. Stop by the bar table to say hello. In this case my main mission is rock flower anemones, or at least one really cherry one. Mushrooms, zoas and maybe one torch are the acceptable impulse purchases.

Unless you know what you’re doing, proceed with caution if you see this white tag. Whatever you’re interested in, ask if it’s wild or maricultured. If you’re told it’s neither, but have your doubts for whatever reason, move on.Looking good! Going tonight, my first coral show. Any advice for a first timer?

Edit: I think a lot of the stuff we see these days is maricultured, so if that’s the case I’d ask how long it’s been acclimated to tank conditions. For example, I know @Arvin R puts his corals through rigorous quarantine, but that’s not the case for everyone. What you want to avoid is the folks who picked up a shipment from SFO last night, and are now trying a quick flip at CFM.
