"China" my mandarin died :'-(

Found "China" my green mandarin this morning on it's back in the sand. Not sure why it died. It was fat and big. I have plenty of pods all over my tank and glass. Must've not been dead for long before I found him because the shrimp and snails were not eating him. He was by a mycedium that has long sweeper tentacles but not sure if that would kill him. His stomach was not sunken in and I didn't see any wounds on him. He was a pretty fish and I enjoyed watching the smoke coming out of his gills. May you RIP. (

Not long at all. Maybe 8 months.

RIP little dude. Yeah, sorry to hear it. They are just like the Harrier Jets when they blow sand around while hovering. Seems like C.B. mandarins are more common nowadays. I don't know if they have longer life expectancy. My green spotted is about at the 8 months mark now.

While I've never seen a mycedium take one out, I can see it happening. China sure looks like a fat and sassy little dude in that picture (rather nice looking fish indeed) so I doubt it was a health issue.
