Cyanobacteria growing in torch?

This afternoon I checked on my (relatively) new torch and noticed it was irritated and had two strands of something growing out of it. It looks like cyanobacteria, which showed up in my tank briefly a few days ago on the sandbed before my goby cleaned it out. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't brown jelly, and if it is cyano or something similar, can I just remove it by hand without damaging the tissue of the coral?

Thanks

(Due to the poor quality of my camera, this photo is much bluer and darker then it looks in real life. The stringy growth is more of a reddish-brown)

Did you spot feed it recently? I’ve seen mine close up like that and then sorta poop if I’ve fed them feed roids or something. But it’s hard to tell based on that pic alone.

If you have leds and can make the tank whiter it will help to see what’s going on and take a better pic.

The issue seems to have resolved itself, either due to the flow or the coral expelling it. I’ll check on it tomorrow and update if the issue persists.
