Wow. That second thread sounds exactly like my problem. My tank was doing awesome, everything was growing great, then I get hit with this mysterious STN and the nudis.

The nudis are doing obvoius damage, but I think the mysterious STN might be due to the RC. I installed my Litermeter continuous water changer around the same time the STN started and at that time I began using the RC salt. It was an older bucket of RC too that I had ordered from Drs. Foster and Smith about 1 year ago too!

Knocks wood..

My problem seemed to eventually go shortly after I changed salts (using Tropic Marin Pro now) but again I also messed with some other factors that could have just as easily been causing the problem.

Thanks... that's the article that I plan on using as a guide. Has anyone else tried Potassium as a dip?
