DIY lid

Update- So I ended up visiting @Arvin R a few weeks ago to pick up some corals and view his DIY lid. He was had some extra netting lying around and was kind enough to give it to me. I ended up purchasing a diy magnetic lid from Amazon and used the netting that Arvin gave me instead of the black net that it came with. So far so good, easy to remove and the magnet strips always hold it together. Putting it together was fairly easy. You lay a one magnetic strip down on the lid that has 3m tape on one side, the other magnetic strip is placed on top of the other and it has grooves on the top end. You place the net on top of the lid, and lock it down with a smooth plastic strip. Cut the access netting off and finish it with the corner plastic clips that have a lip to grab to help remove the screen. I made a little cut out for the wave maker that I have on the tank so I can’t completely remove the lid off. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good. Do u have links per chance to the parts you used for this? I will need to make a couple of lids for my tanks. I would like custom ones at some point but don't wanna spend that much money right now.

It’s an Amazon product. If you enlarge the first photo you can see the description and price of the product was 15.99. https://a.co/d/bgMsQLc
Cheap and easy to put together. It will be hard to install on rimless tanks though, but it is possible. The reason being is that the magnetic strip is probably a third of an inch.

I have extra netting and spline @MichaelB when you need it
Awesome. Not sure how much you have?. But will need to make roughly 4 screen tops.

Initially I would focus on the single 40 gallon one.

1 for 40 gallon tank

3 for the 210gallon.
It has 2 center braces making a total of 3 equal sized rectangular sections.
I figure much easier having 3 smaller ones verse going with one massive ackward to handle one.

Awesome, I will order one this week to play with and see how it works out. Than order more if it works out. I figure I will know how many kits I will need after the first one.
