Ahh, the fun trick of trying to get 12 legs perfectly level on an very uneven floor.
1) I screwed some boards on the sides of the 4 corner legs, such that all legs were
slightly off the floor (1/16 minimum to whatever) and the stand was perfectly level.
2) Tape seran-wrap to the floor under the legs.
3) Mix epoxy with thickener, to peanut butter consistency. Lift stand a ways, spread
a thick layer of epoxy on the bottom of all the legs, then set stand back down.
When the stand is set back down, it actually sits on the boards (#1 above), and squishes
out epoxy from between the legs and the floor.
Key is that when the epoxy squishes out, the epoxy automatically adjusts to the gap.
Essentially, you end up with big solid perfectly sized epoxy shims on all the legs.
Put some thin furniture felt pads under that, and you can slide it around empty, without worry
about re-adjusting shims
For less legs, measuring/cutting/gluing solid wood shims is fine. But the trick was nice for so many legs.
BTW: IMO: Simple wedge type shims are a bad idea, since they can move, plus have point loads
which can crush wood over time.
