I know it's cheaper, but is this a safe substitute for Kent's Turbo Calcium? I add 1 tsp of turbo calcium per 5-gallon of salt mix to compensate for the low CA in Red Sea Salt. I'm getting low on TC now, but overall I really don't use that much, so paying on-line price for Kent won't affect my standard of living. But I won't mind saving a few bucks if dowflake will do the job safely.

The bad news is the cost to ship the DowFlake is more expensive then the stuff itself. I just got 2 4lb packages from Buckeye costing $9.96 and it cost me $14.26 to ship it to SF. The overall savings are still there though vs. what I was paying for B-Ionic before.

Just know that though it says $8.00 for shipping on the website, you will shortly after get a request for additional shipping costs.

Was that for faster shipping? Mine was something like just under $15 for 8lbs shipped to Alameda.
