Easy way of breaking small rock full of mushroom without bandsaw.

Hi is there any other tool besides the bandsaw I can use to cut a small rock with a few Sunkist mushrooms. I want to add to the dbtc would I be able to start my own or do I add it to the current dbtc.

You only add to a current dbtc if you got the original frag from that dbtc. If not then you start your own chain.

I have been debating doing the same for a while on my Yuma rock. @JVU has a great masonry chisel which has been my favorite to date.

I used a big flathead and hammer to chisel at the rock near the base of the shroom. Make sure to wear safety goggles!

Yeah I used a flathead for mine too.

If you have bone cutters and the rock is on the softer/crumbling side, dig and cut into the rock beneath the mushrooms. This way takes a bit longer but may prevent the rock from breaking into pieces if that’s not your intention.

I’m also a big fan of the coral cutters that Pablo @svreef showed me recently, for more of a precise cut. Would only work if your rock is soft, like real live rock or coral skeleton under the mushrooms.
