Ecotech Versa dosing pump - potentially failing soon?

Does anyone know of a quick (potential) fix to address the noise issue? I assume this pump will not have too much live left in her.

It sounds like the inner gears might need some Versa Grease and that might do the trick. I found a bunch of videos on how to take it apart, might be worth doing

This is what Ecotech uses for Versas and Vortechs. A tube is expensive, but will last you a long, long time. You can start with just lubricating the rollers, but if that doesn't work, then you can consider taking it apart.

Assuming you’ve already tried replacing tubing with the little kit they sell?

As you know I dislike these pumps, but replacing the tubing solved more than an issue or two for me (temporarily…).

I did not find these links you are referring to - can you share them? Looks like this would void the warranty though.

I ordered several of these yesterday as I was certain this was the issue, and my four versas are due for their annual tube replacement anyway soon.

Not sure if you watched the short but it is running without any tubing, so unfortunately it sounds like there is a bigger issue with that pump.

Regarding not liking the pump. I was planning to switch to the Hydros Sole eventually, specifically for alkalinity, since I am dosing daily 610 ml (highly diluted) solution. I did like the consistency of all four versas I own and did not see a pressing reason to switch them out, and the sole seems rather large and inconvenient to mount in the sump area. But this might now be a potential next / second step.

Switched the dosing pumps and the sound is very similar with another versa which was barely used.

So in conclusion, looks like this is due to the larger amount of dosing within a short period of time, i.e., 600 ml+ in 30 minutes, vs. technical issues with the versa itself.

Still, I am keen to get the Hydros Sole during the upcoming thanksgiving sale.

I used to have the Jebao 4-head doser. 2 heads failed within the first three months. The ones that worked kept on needing to get recalibrated. Thankfully I found a good deal on a 4-head Versa and it has been working flawlessly. Looks like I may need to get 1-2 more dosers so may try the Jebao again.
