Effect of Refugium Light on Underside of Sandbed?

New tank setup: Glass tank with sandbed. Refugium section of sump is below in the stand. Some light will shine up onto the underside of the DT sandbed. Any issues? I have never had this situation before.

I cant imagine any issues with that. You might get some algae but who cares?

My ATS light reflected on the underside of my tank and I started seeing green patches, so I just taped a cardboard to tank.

Depending on how deep the sandbed is, it might grow a little algae or it might not. Water-movement at the very bottom of your sandbed is low compared to the rest of your tank. So i imagine algae doesnt grow too well. Overall it shouldnt have any significant effect on your tank.

Worst comes to worst just stick some black acrylic underneath, but i wouldn't worry personally.
