Favia - advance beginner coral?

My tank is slowly but steadily maturing after 1.5 years. easy SPS (monti, birdnest, slimer ) are doing well. I want to add some colors to the tank. Favia caught my attention. I was wondering if Favia is a good choice. I am thinking putting Favia at the bottom on glass ( i have bare bottom). Bad idea?

They will work or they won't. I couldn't keep Favia's for a while, until one day a year or so in I tried and they grew. I agree, worth trying.

Of you can keep Monti and Slimers, you should be good with the Favias. Look into Leptoseris and Favites too. They look good on a bare bottom.

Yellow submarine caught my eye. Basically anything bright. Since most of my corals are green and red, looking for other colors. Blue and purple kind of get wash out with the blue light.

I have lepto. For whatever reason it’s not coloring up. It’s encrusting and growing but just not coloring.

Looks like a dull purple’ish / blue’ish color in my tank. I thought it’s dying but it start to encrust the rock

I've been reefing for about a year and a half now. A favia was my 4th coral; I have a fire favia in a 24 gallon. So far I haven't had any issues with it, has nice color and seems to spreading. It's has added a nice spot of red and green/yellow in the tank.
