I like to use a colander. Sometimes the fish’s fins or scales get caught on the netting of the net.haha, i was taking them out of the cup and putting them into the water. realised the hard way i should get a net.
Those are normally considered good.Yep, some tiny starfish came off. Don't know if those are bad.

That’s pretty nifty. I might have to pick one of those up.I bought this squared-off colander as a more gentle fish net. The square corner is perfect for use along the edges of a tank. No fin tangling.

Yep, sounds like Cyanobacteria. It's all slimy looking and grosses me out lol
