I'm trying to engineer something so that when my ATS main drain becomes clogged and the emergency drain starts carrying water, this flow is detected and the pump feeding the ATS shuts off.
I was thinking either a flow meter on the backup drain/pipe or maybe some sort of optical sensor. Ideally I'm looking for a standalone system where I could connect the output of this sensor to the on/off state of the outlet powering the pump, as I don't have an apex or any other controller. However, a cheap controller system that facilitates this may also be viable, under $400 (ideally ~$200).
