got ethical husbandry?

Free to a good home

I'm taking down this tank. The corals and livestock listed below are free to a good home. Would strongly prefer to give it all to one person, so the first one that wants it can have it. If no one wants it all after a week or so, I'll give out the individual pieces/livestock.

This was the tank before tear down:

Here is what is up for grabs:
RBTA and paired Occelaris. The RBTA is on a flat rock with GSP and a Yuma. I think you will need to take the whole rock. The female is 3 inches and male 2.

Frogspawn, probably 8-10 heads. Grapefruit size fully extended
225.jpg

Purple Hammer, probably 12-15 heads. This a branching hammer, maybe baseball size. Fast grower.

Viatnamese Crocea. Very vibrant. Maybe 4-5 inches wide. Has two red mushrooms on it too.

Another clam with a vibrant green margin. Maybe 6-7 inches.

These palys.

Also a half dollar size red chalice, a 2.5inch flame angel (never had a problem with nipping at corals) a skunk cleaner shrimp and a tiger pistol shrimp.

Let me know if anyone has any questions. Ideally would like to hand off the coral/livestock either this Saturday morning before 10AM or Monday morning before 10AM. I am in Orinda in the East Bay.

If they don't all go to one home, I'd like to get the purple hammer, both shrimp and Flame Angel :)

If not that's ok. But if you piece it out and no one has claimed it, keep me in mind please. ^.^

I can pick up on Saturday too :D

Hi Dave:

Jim would be my first recommendation as well, but if he's not in the position to rehome these, I can certainly take them all . I've got a 4x3x3 main display as well as a 125 refugium / sump + two additional refugiums that are only partially stocked at present.

I'd also be happy to be the central distribution point to divvy up things to folks (such as the items Brandie would like) so that your generosity can be shared by more than one while keeping it easy for you.

LMK, Robin

PS ... BTW I am in Lafayette, so quite close ...

A few PM's came in that I can't reply to directly:

Gimmito - By livestock, do you mean the fish/shrimp only?

GoldieLocke - Noted. I think between you and Gimmito, we might be able to find a good home for everything which would work for me.

This tank will go back up, it just needs to come down for a while Actually looking forward to a restart, though I've grown most of these pieces for 2+ years, so will miss them.

I can be emailed at oncorhynchus at gmail.com.

I'm sure Jim would make sure you get pieces of your prized corals back in the future. I'd love a frag of the frogspawn. It's a beaut.

I think between Brandie and I we can give your corals/clams/livestock a good home...plus whenever you decide to get back in the hobby we can help you get started again. :)

I'll be sure to make sure Brandie's tank params are in check. :)

Feel free to hit us back up when you're ready to set up again. We'd be happy to give back to you, just like any other BAR member here. :)

I might be too late here, but my tank is pretty empty of life other than my newly paired oscelaris clowns :-/

the new male was just added just recently, he wasn't in the tank when I snapped that pic.

You'll get plenty of corals at the regional frag swap Fidel...you might want ti get rid of the kenya tree before it takes over your tank.

Thanks again for the corals and livestock Dave. I was able to split them with Brandie and Denzil and help Bob out with his tank crash. Lmk if you ever get started again. :)

The kenyas are now isolated where they can't spread I've only kept them because there has been nothing better to take their place and I'm sure a new reefer somewhere will want them when they're ready to go I just can't get myself to throw out something living and doing well regardless of their lack of popularity.
I went out and bought corals to bring to the swap so I'm looking forward to that. Anemones don't ever make it to the swaps do they?

No problem Gimmito. The restart is already in progress. New LED's, fresh rock...going heavy SPS with a focus on rare corals. Pretty pumped.
