Getting a RO/DI unit, any seggustions

I am gonna take the plunge and get my own RO/DI filter. I have done a lot of reading and rarely can I find reasons to go with one over another. What are the pros and cons to the systems ya'll have or have used?

I think the biggest issue on my side is the waste ratio, there are some new Spectrapure that claim low waste 1 to 1 ratio?
An inline TDS meter is great help plus a flush valve

I have an AWI unit. Works perfectly. There was a minor leak when I got it due to too short of a tube causing strain at an elbow. emailed AWI and they immediately sent out replacement parts, no questions asked. No regrets on my purchase.

I have the mighty mite from airwaterice (sponsor plug) and it works great. 5 stage, fits under my tiny sink, etc...

The only con I guess is the DI cartridge is horizontal which is easily fixed by either taking it out or just mounting the whole she-bang vertically.

I have the AWI Typhooon 3 and like it a lot. Never had any issues with it. I haven't tried out any others to compare against but this unit is very well-built. The filter casings are a thick plastic and everything is mounted on a heavy metal frame.

But if that Spectrapure does a 1:1 waste ratio, that would be great. This unit is at least 4:1 waste and probably worse than that.

I love the AWI Typhoon III, it's a solid unit at a good price.

Dylan you'd be getting a much lower waste to exchange rate if you were closer to the source, but sad to say the prefilters I have to change the most often out of anywhere on the Peninsula are south of Kelly St. in HMB (Ocean Colony being by far the worst, one client I have to change the prefilters every 4-5 weeks and that is for ATO only, no on site mixing :p)
