skiming wet, weekly waterchanges over a month, and some manual removal helped me get rid of all my HA...its alot of work but its worth it when your corals arnt being over ran by the stuff

Rabbitfish work great also. the manual methods and nitrate reduction didn't work for me. 1 rabbitfish and in 1 month no more green hair algae.

BTW the type is "Derbesia marina" It's not widespread yet, just small areas. Cutting back on feedings and fine tuning the skimmer. Already do weekly water changes.

Anytime I've ever had any hair algae I'd go grab one of those giant turbos that Le carries over at AG (about the size of two golf balls).... those guys are algae killers.... that don't live but about 2-3 months but they take out the algae.
