HELP Broken Favites Polyp

I just got a favites frag a few days ago. Today I noticed one of the corners was chipped and the polyp damaged. The other polyps are behaving like normal. Will the injured corner polyp heal itself?

Or just cut the broken piece and offer it as a frag after it heals

I've never fragged. I just don't want it to get infected.

Looks like a war coral. You could probably just go ahead and make it two pieces. It should heal, I use to break and frag mine all the time. Set the pieces in your sand bed an inch apart, wait until they grow back together and then frag again. Eventually you'll get something like this.
