How many time did you forget to leave frozen food on top of the tank?

how do you realize you left it there, the stench? that stuff can really make you sick if stays there for some time and smell it

myself once and believe me had to trow up immediately then had to wash the stinking sink with the fish food.

The next day when I feed my fish...

I left it on top of the canopy then walking by felt the smell, reached on top and there it was. I have a canopy that flips the front and left it way on the back...
Whenever I leave the food under the hood to unfreeze, leave the hood partly open so I remember to check on my way out

I left a bag of PE mysis in my car. It melted and liquid come out if it and into my carpet. That was over a month ago. I still smell the dead fish smell in my car every day. The sucky part is, i have to remove my car seat to steam clean the carpet. But the good part is, i always have a good excuse not to drive during lunch break. :)

Ed - try oxy-clean to go over the stain. If you have Folex (you can find at Bed, Bath & Beyond or even Home Depot) that may help with the stain itself. I kinda remember you have a dog so I assume you have Nature's Miracle. If so that would help with neutralizing some of the odors in where the shrimp juice leaked in.

Fwiw - I would even try a bag of carbon to help with the smell.
