How to frag this coral?

Not my picture/coral, but it shows the shape of the coral similar to the one I have. I've seen many videos on how to frag a toadstool, but this shape is a little different. Does anyone have experience fragging this coral? It's called a JDWW.

Fragging all toadstools and leathers is pretty much the same process.
  1. Remove and put in a separate container.
  2. Use sharp scissors and cut around the crown or stalk and then cut into smaller pieces. Lots of slime coat will be released. Put the original back into your tank.
  3. Lay the frags on top of rubble in your tank in a low flow area and they'll attach in a week.
  4. I don't like to use rubber bands because if its too tight it cuts the frag in half.
  5. Some times I glue the tips of wooden toothpicks to a frag plug and spear the frag down in the center to hold it in place.

I use these (or similar) scissors - same ones i used for trimming plants in my planted aquariums. Makes for easy snipping while in tank. I also then run carbon after cutting to catch and would-be toxins released after the cuts as my nems don't tend to care much for them.

Does not apply to most leathers, but on one or two select ones, I've found glue to work fine. But I only did that because I didn't have a suitable rubber band and no space for shroom box

Pulsing Sinularia, if patted very dry, can be glued directly to a plug. I currently have a frag that was attached this way

Sharp new razor blade or filet knife on bigger leathers so can make a nice clean cut in one motion. Try not to saw back in forth leaving jagged esges..I like the shish kabob method then glue tooth pick into a hole on rubble. Or lay kabob flat on plug or rubble rubber band toothpick down. Then just pull out in a week. A tray of rubble coverd in mesh bridal Vail works fine if you don't care what they attach to. I used to add about 1/2 teaspoon of Lugol's iodine per gallon and toss in the fresh cuts for about five minutes some people say it helps ward off infections.. Honestly I never noticed a difference at all..
