My colonies seem to be all flesh still. At some point it will become hard and safe to cut? So many heads, its just all flesh. Size of a grapefruit.

Band saw. I don’t see a problem cutting through the flesh personally

Isn’t the point to grow a fragment into a colony?

To give to Newfly. Also the heads shade eachother and they die.
Cutting below the flesh line is optimal but no real issue with cutting the flesh when needed.
Can use any technique. Just keep in mind their skeleton is less dense and more likely to crush or splinter instead of cut cleanly, so cutting with a dremel or band saw is better than with shears or bone cutter.
