I’ve got a spinning ball of chaetomorpha in a 40 hex rotating on “y-axis”
And another in a 20 rotating on “x-axis”

I am probably missing the key point here, but I am super interested in how you get it to spin. This is one of the many to-do items for my tank to get this set up for my refugium, which only gets water circulation through the normal flow vs spinning.

Spinning is the best. The trick is to get it to spin without power heads. Gotta practice that sump kung fu.

Yup. So did mine for 24 years. Lol. I had cheato envy.

Mine doesn’t spin but it’s lit from the top and the long edge in front. Spinning looks cool but I’m not convinced it works better.

Dunno. It’s supposed to be like suntanning. When I grew up in LA. Every 30 minutes on the radio would announce suntan turn over time.

Spinning may work better at keeping detritus from accumulating but I don't know if less detritus buildup is necessarily better.
