Okay guys, this is my very first journal of my 3rd tank. Its actually an upgraded from a 13.5g to a 40g.
So, it has been a month of planning and bleach curing my rocks, reshaping and gluing. Ordered, Waited for parts to come in and,

I finally, got my tank wet today.
Yay!
Will take my time again on this one.

1st day of cycling the tank.
No filter socks
No uv
No light
Just heater and return pump for now.
Btw i have this bio filter medias that fits perfectly in the back chamber, that I’ve been using for years and it works great!

After 24hrs
First defense is in and
My one and only nitrifying bacteria after a couple hour.
And ammonia drops later

Sounds like snake oil to me
I have more and older tanks than most here
IMHO that’s a totally unnecessary product
Save you funds for some food, a book, or for water change.

If it's vitamins then dosing it now without fish in the tank wouldn't be of any benefit imo. I also don't like to use products in a bottle that make claims but don't say exactly what's in it. Aside from Hospital/QT meds, bacteria in a bottle and dosing elements I try to stay away from everything else.

Just a quick update
Going on my 12th week and its going through a cycle.
Few fish and CUC added, I’ll let it ride…

Added a bottle of pods yesterday.

A little update.
5 months 2 weeks and everything going well. my tequila sunrise splitted tho from 3 to 5 now.
Started seeing a few corallite to my return nozzle and on top of the rock and on the rack, which is a good sign.
Started also my protein skimmer, it a work process until i get it tuned.

Plans? Maybe just basics for now.
I am dosing all for reef for the meantime.
Maybe in the future looking to set up a calcium reactor as i did to my main tank.
I have to look for a good deal set up lol.
Thinking of dosing kalk also to raise ph but i have never done it before so i am really scared doing it.

Thinking of putting a long polyp GSP on my back wall.
I had it on my very 1st tank and it was covered with GSP it was so nice! The only thing is they grow so fast.
