itouch Connection Help Needed

I've had an iPodtouch for a few months, but never been able to get online at home with it. I have a Belkin router. The network name comes up on the itouch and when I enter the wep, the login page just comes up again. It never connects. I'm pretty sure I've had it online at Chabot before. Any clues??

try switching to WPA or WPA2 and see if that helps. Wep is pretty easy (automatically easy) to crack and people can access your network + files

lol i hate to say this but lmgtfy (the first link is where i got all this info)

your router looks old (wireless B), go into the router and check the settings. ipod does not support 64bit WEP encryption, so you need to see if you can change it to 128 bit. it should be somewhere in the wireless->security section of your router options

if you don't have the option to set it to 128, a firmware upgrade is in order.

if you need my help i can use teamviewer to do it for you.

I tried using a some Belkin wireless cards a looong time ago. The firmware was so buggy and the support site released updates so infrequently that I put Belkin on the crap list for network stuff and tech support.

Personally if you're looking to upgrade I'd get something that supports being flashed to DD-WRT (open source firmware) which will allow you customization options of a more expensive router.

You can reference any model you're considering here

Last time I used DD-WRT it was buggy and it's bloated with all kinds of settings. I think Tomato is better but can only be used for a handful or routers.
