Jaw breaker mushroom

How do you care for a jaw dropper mushroom? I place mine at the bottom of the tank about 27" deep. It's open but not as open as other mushrooms in the tank.

Good question... I don't know it's small about a dime in size right now.

Yes you mean Jawbreakers. They're actually a Discosoma mushroom species from Vietnam. I have one about quarter size and one baby. They're pretty easy. I have mine on the sandbed for now. Low flow and low to medium light for me.

Nice charles! Mine still has to get more color. I have thin red streaks but none of them are thick red.

I moved mine in a shaded area, low flow, low light will keep an eye for the next few days

They do like having some light. Neptunes in san jose has like 3 big ones in their nano display near the cashier.

its doing better than my other piece. the 3rd one floated somewhere in the rock work. Doubt its still alive.

I've found other discosoma to move to a place that they like.

Yeah these jawbreakers are an old school high end mushroom. Unlike most discosomas they dont reproduce as fast. Hence why they cost 100-300$.

These mushrooms start orange and get red streaks and then later get green streaks. Ive heard of them getting bits of purple too.
