Jays Tank

What’s up all,

Just wanted to post a pic of my tank. Someday I’ll be able to have a larger tank/sump/better lights lol

Looking good! Curious to see what kind of equipment you have in there? (Can always edit the first post to add it too!)

Also how much PAR do you have the clam under? I'm always asking people now to get a better idea of what they like.

I have 2 hob filters, an Aquaclear 70 and Seachem Tidal 55. 2 150w Nicrew reef lights. A 150w heater, a 100w heater, and 4 hydor koralia wave makers. When I first started, I didn’t have a lot of money so this is kinda how I made it work over time. The clam is my favorite thing right now. Not sure the PAR it’s under, I’m actually in line to use the meter haha. But I feel like hopefully it’s around 300-400. If it’s not enough though I have an area im ready to move it to.

Been thinking about an Apex system recently but there’s so many different items. How have they helped you guys? They’re very pricey are they worth it? What’s the best way for a beginner to use one?

I think the hydros systems are really interesting, but haven't personally used them. They have a lower cost of entry, seem to have more compatibility with other company equipment, and easier extensibility. I feel the main reason to go the apex route is if you think you'd eventually want a Trident. That's not the only reason, but if you wanted to go that way they only way you can is you be on the Neptune ecosystem.
