Just got a pair of lionfish

Pretty easy to eat too, not a ton of tiny bones when fried this way. Tastes like cod, not fishy at all.

I love whole fried fish. Man, I need to get out there and help reduce the population of this invasive species. I saw some huge ones while diving in Jamaica. I am surprised more people don't target them for food.

In 5 years they'll be listed as endangered after that.

I just watched a spearfishing video on them, they dont have any natural predators so arent scared, super easy to spear them

I grew up in San Diego. The sad part is lion fish are what got me into the hobby. Every time we would go to Sea World I would spend a lot of time just staring at these guys in their display tanks. I was mesmerized by their color and fins, and how the stripes carried through their eyes. They are still awesome fish. They just don’t belong there.

Sometimes I toy with the idea of a fish only predator tank. I had one in college in the 90’s with several types of lion fish, various triggers, and puffers. Maybe I should bring that back?? My wife really wants a full size puffer…

I really like puffers. I also like frogfish, though they are kind of boring lol
