Cali Kid Corals

MDs 90 Gallon Shallow Reef

It’s probably not an insignificant amount of time as well. Is that going to be shipped? I’d like to see how it’s packed if so if you’re able to take some pics or a video of unboxing.

Depending when it’s ready it might be shipped. If it ends up going that route, I’ll make sure to take a video of the unboxing. He is coming down for the CFM late January so I’m also considering just picking it up there if it’s not ready by the first week of January, at that point I might as well just wait for him to come down

It would be safer lol, the ups guy will drop it. Be luck if he doesn't kick it a few times especially with all the holiday scrambling they will be doing. Not a happy time of year for them.

I did my plumbing while recovering from surgery...it wasn't fun..thought it would be a piece of cake..ended up painful in the end..

Take care of yourself man...your water ain't going to haul itself lol..hope you heal quick.

The scape is looking awesome..excited to see it in the tank..

So I’ve been trying to think how I want to mount the frag plugs to the rock scape. I was thinking of having Reef Rock Oasis drill holes into it but that would definitely increase the price a good chunk. I was looking at what @thephoreefer did to hold his torches, he posted a thread on reef2reef where he would cut the stem off of drag plugs and attach a 6mm acrylic rod and that would fit into ceramic. Genius DIY idea and I was actually surprised it wasn’t something I’ve seen before.

Then I came across an IG post where there was a custom rock scape with what looks similar but this was blended in with mortar so the transition looks smooth. I went back to the reef2reef post and in the thread there was a guy who actually has a small business around these “frag plug seats”!

My plan is to order some from him and pickup some mortar so I can attach them myself when my rock scape is complete. I’ve never really liked the idea of gluing things down frags to a rock scape because sometimes they wouldn’t like where I put them lol

I ordered a 15 Gallon ATO Reservoir from Innovative Marine because while the 5 gallon jugs works and is cost effective, it will need to be replaced a lot more often on a 120 gallon system. Unfortunately, the package got delivered yesterday and I barely got the chance to open it up today and it’s broken :( Hopefully IM isn’t a headache to work with about this stuff

Ouch glass I assume?

Yep, glass. Should’ve gone acrylic like the Simpicity one I bought for the 45 frag. Those only go up to 10 gallons though
I have a 15 gallon acrylic one, but no name to identify who made it. Got it from either a member here I think.

I also have the diy one i got from you lol. I put it together but never used it and didn't actually glue it. After much thought I don't trust my diy skills to actually end with something that holds 5 gallons of water and won't risking leaking all over my floor.

I can return it if you if want it or pay it foward?
