Monterey Bay Aquarium’s New Into the Deep Exhibit

Today was the first day the Into the Deep Exhibit opened for Monterey Bay Aquarium members. I think it opens to general admission April 6.

I kinda wish we could get a behind the door/tanks tour on this one. I’d be interested to see how they keep the tanks under pressure and do maintenance on them.

Great photos! I had heard about giants isopods that feed on whale carcasses on the bottom of the ocean, are these they same ones? Coincidentally BODs just started looking into whether behind the scenes tours will be possible again. We’ll hopefully have an update soon!

Yup, the giant isopod at the exhibit is the same as you’re thinking.
