Our mission

Morphing Anthias

Anthias Update.....

So the Female turned into a male. The two males had quite a lot of aggression for a few weeks and the new male took over the Harem. The first male ended up living on the opposite end of the tank and slowly started to change color back into a female. Now almost entirely back to female colors with just the small dots on the fins to tell it apart from the others. In the right light the color is spot on with the ladies.

Over the past two weeks it has been working it's way back to the group and it seems has been accepted back into the harem. 5 ladies and 1 male. NICE! ;)

This was the male..........You can see the spots on the front fins.

I love my anthias. Interesting that you experienced that! LoL, Denzil bought me a trio off os LADD for my birthday; the smallest trio I have ever seen. Then my littlest female was downed by a bristleworm.... after much contemplation (and waiting for my male to heal, he had bristleworm bristles stickin' outta his eye) I decided to get him more females (I was also watching the one female and my midas blenny getting harassed on a regular basis, the male thought they were both his!)

I went into Neptunes and Robert just got a shipment of them in! I picked out 5, thinking one or two may not make it, but of course, they all did, and they all fit right in with the established male and female. Interestingly enough, the male knew exactly who/what they were, and he was very excited to say the least then he saw them being acclimated. Only a few tiffs here and there between the females, but never any male-male issues. The male is now known as "The Hef" and his females are "The girls" LOL. I love watching them! Oh, and my midas blenny is no longer considered part of "The girls" haha
