Moving a waterbox Infinia 215.5 from Vacaville to Castro Valley… help? Lol

Just bought a “new to me” waterbox infinia 215.5 off FB marketplace. It’s around 420lbs and I need to move it from Vacaville to Castro Valley. Ideas anyone? Enclosed U-Haul behind the jeep is an option but it’s just the wife and I and I think I’ll need two or three more guys to help me out if I go that route.

Hire 3 locals up there from outside home Depot or whatever to load it. Probably can find 3 members to help unload. I’d be a maybe depending on time and date
 
I rented a U-Haul cargo van to move a 210 gallon with stand. Just make sure to measure the width of the cargo area with wheel wells to make sure the tank and stand can fit side by side. There was a difference between the Chevy vs Ford where one wouldn't work for me (forgot which). I feel like the trailers don't have great suspension so I was paranoid about hundreds of pounds of glass bouncing around.

Also welcome to BAR! 4 members were generous with their time and helped me move it from Elk Grove to Dublin. Depending on day and time I'd possibly be able to help unload.
 
Checklist from @SupraSaltyReefer. Check the transport section. For large foam you can get insulation boards from Home Depot.

I'm moving a tank this weekend. Just wanted to share my checklist of equipment for when I breakdown a tank and NOT setting back up. I always forget a few item so I created this list to make it easy. Some items may not be needed depending on the size of the tank and if there are any livestock...

I recently picked up a 150g with a (very large and heavy) solid wood custom stand with hood, sump, etc.. I’d definitely recommend the small apartment size UHaul, this stuff typically ends up taking a LOT more space than you anticipated.

Two of us were able to move it without suction cups, but damn it was heavy (and he crushed my thumb, ouch!). Look in to getting some moving straps for sure, about 25 bucks at Home Depot.

Bring a wide, thick piece of wood (I used one that I loaded my motorcycle in to the truck with) so if needed you can set the tank or stand on it then slide/glide it in on a towel or heavy moving blanket. This was a lifesaver.

Also had two furniture dollies but their front/entry walkway was so cracked and uneven we couldn’t use them.

Honestly I’m going to go pay a couple of guys from Home Depot parking lot when it’s time to move it in from the garage, I’m getting too old for this sh!t…

I have moved a lot of aquariums in my day. The only way to move a large aquarium is with good suction cups. It’s really that good. And the good news is. The club has really good suction cups that you can borrow for free.

Actually that’s how I ended up becoming a supporting member! EricSRT yelled at me on Facebook when I was complaining about it, also again when Tu was asking for us to share fun or new builds and I mentioned I would start a build thread on r2r. He basically bullied me into joining. We should put him in charge of marketing.

Everyone’s suggestions and offers of help have been so amazing! Completely blown away with how responsive this community is!

At the same time I asked for help on here I also was asking various shops. I found one based in Fairfield that will move it, door to door, from Vacaville to Castro Valley utilizing a lift for a very good price. Turns out they were the ones to set this tank up originally. I’ll let you guys know how it goes. But AquaLifeStudio are the ones doing it.
